In February, Atlanta-based DJ Swamp Izzo revealed in an interview that “Music” had been completed according to Our Generation Music.
Five months later, it has yet to be released to the public.
Still, we know a little bit about it, thanks to an interview Carti conducted with XXL Magazine in April 2022.
“Love. Sex. Drugs. Changes in my life,” are the topics he’s planning on covering according to the tell-all.
“I’ve been rapping about going to rehab…I want this album to make everyone feel free. I hope this album brings peace to the world, honestly. I’m in love with what I’m doing. Like I told you, you can’t put a genre alternative [on me].”
The 26-year-old star has had a bit of legal trouble recently.
Pitchfork reported that this tour will be Carti’s first headlining jaunt “since his arrest in February for allegedly assaulting and choking his pregnant girlfriend at the end of 2022.”
Following the incident, Carti “was booked on charges of felony aggravated assault and hindering a person making an emergency telephone call.”
He has denied the charges through his lawyer.
